Teenage TV talent set to inspire choirs at Last Choir Singing Final

BRITAIN’S Got Talent semi-finalist Henry Gallagher will be performing live at the Final of the Last Choir Singing Competition in Blackburn in June.

The 13-year-old singer-songwriter from Wigan wowed the judges on the hit ITV show, and now he is ready to wow an audience at King George’s Hall, in Blackburn, on Friday June 17.

Henry shot to fame last April on national TV, as he performed his song ‘Lightning’ at his audition, which lifted the roof off a packed Lowry Theatre in Manchester and again at the televised live shows in London.

He has written a number of original songs, including Lightning, Butterflies, Best Thing Ever, Explode and Time of my Life, and is now playing to audiences up and down the country with his exciting stage performances at numerous live events.

Henry will be discussing his Last Choir Singing performance with BBC Radio Lancashire’s John Gillmore on Thursday 2 June from TIME.

He is excited to be performing at the Last Choir Singing Final and to be inspiring the youngsters in their performances, he said: “I’m thrilled to be singing at the Last Choir Singing Final, it is even more special to me as I know how much singing will mean to the children taking part.”

Schools in the Final

Schools from all four corners of Lancashire entered the competition. Thousands of children took part in regional heats throughout March. Each of the winning schools are now working hard towards the final and are extremely proud to have been named heat winners.

Each finalists will perform a song of their choice and a set song which has been chosen as a result of the ‘Last Choir Song Contest’ which took place earlier this year. Ike Rannap’s song ‘Genius’ was the winning song and Ike will be there on the evening to listen and judge the performances.

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners based in Euxton, Chorley, created, organise and sponsor the Last Choir Competition.

George Critchley, Chairman of the firm said: “It has always been my ambition to do something like this. I was determined to give something back to the Lancashire community who have supported the firm over the last 13 years. True Bearing are keen to give as many children as possible the chance to participate in artistic expression. Bringing Henry in may inspire them to reach higher levels. When we started the competition last year we had no idea how amazing and worthy it would be. Having Henry on board for the final is the icing on the cake!”
