Children start from 3 years of age and are given a wide ranging educational experience that prepares them for senior education at 13. Children learn so much more if they feel valued, safe and secure and to ensure that happens we run our school on family lines.
The school is best known for its friendly atmosphere and confident pupils. The ethos is all about providing opportunity, opening doors for children and keeping them open for as long as possible.
Mowden School, as it was originally known, was founded by Mr B A Snell at Mowden Hall, in Essex, in 1896. In September 2002, the School passed into the care of Lancing College. Although the house was purpose built for a preparatory school in 1913 by Christopher Snell¹s grandfather, there has been a continuing programme of modernisation and development.
Set in its own grounds, Lancing College Prep can boast some excellent on site facilities. Boys and girls are given expert coaching in the major games; hockey, netball, football, rugby, cricket and rounders. There is an adventure playground and an all weather surface on which the children can play during their break times. The whole school faces south towards the sea and offers a wonderful environment for the pupils.
The academic year always offers a range of exciting opportunities at Lancing College Prep. Last year was busy and hugely successful with record numbers of Scholarships, County Championships and National Music Finalists. The pupils achieved remarkable success. An enviable academic record is achieved alongside the many extra curricular activities and pupils are encouraged to maintain a broad range of interests. School days should indeed be the happiest days of your life and bring memories to cherish for a lifetime.
