n A former student of Lingfield Notre Dame in Lingfield, Surrey, Douglas Booth recently appeared in the lead role of BBC2’s drama Worried about the Boy, giving an impressive portrayal of the singer Boy George. His performance was such that Boy George was even reported as saying: “Douglas Booth did me proud in WATB. I love the acting, the look... genius!”n Britain’s Got Talent winners Spellbound, made up of 13 acrobats aged from 12 to 24, included pupils from Surbiton High School and Brooklands College and Heathside School in Weybridge, all in Surrey, among their number.n Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom (pictured above) collected an honorary degree from Kent University. The former St Edmund’s School pupil also recalled some of his childhood memories of Canterbury, including his stage debut at the Marlowe Theatre.n Harry Potter star Tom Felton, a former pupil of Cranmore School, West Horsley, and the Howard of Effingham School in Leatherhead, both in Surrey, will be reprising his role as Draco Malfoy in the new film, due out this November.
