The fifth form students from the school in Beaworthy, North Devon had spent months planning the menu for the event, as well as making table decorations. On the day they also prepared and cooked all of the courses under the watchful eye of teacher Karen Purdew, before changing into black and white waiting outfits and serving the meal to their fellow pupils.

The guest after dinner speaker on the evening was RAF Wing Commander, James Penelhum, who delivered a “thought-provoking and inspirational talk”. The event took place at Buckland House at Buckland Filleigh, a property which has a long-standing relationship with Shebbear College, stretching back many generations.
