Crabbing fans across the county are snapping up the latest coastal inspired gifts, hoodies and T-shirts from Gone Crabbing’s innovative clothing and giftware range. Gone Crabbing’s colourful designs encapsulate all the fun of a seaside holiday, and the great British pastime of dangling a piece of string over the quayside, in the hope of a ‘nip’ from a crafty crustacean.
Creator, Susie Mason, who started her giftware business in 2008, draws inspiration from her love of the British coastline. Though her home is in north Norfolk with its sweeping, sandy beaches, it seemed natural for Susie to seek further stockists for her growing collection in Cornwall where she holidays every summer. ‘I’ve had so much support for my crabbing gifts here in Norfolk. Colin the Crab, our company logo, has become quite a celebrity’ laughs Susie ‘and with my ties and affection for Cornwall, I’m delighted with the response my designs have received already in the Southwest. Everyone loves crabbing, whatever your age, and I wanted to develop a brand which celebrates this popular tradition.’
Susie originally set out to produce a quality souvenir T-shirt for the Norfolk tourist market. The quirky designs were greeted with so much enthusiasm that Susie and her ‘Gone Crabbing Crew’ were encouraged to extend the range to include kitchen textiles, bone china mugs, stationery, hand-painted signs and a new selection of pocket money gifts and badges.
The Little Nipper clothing collection starts with rompers from six months, through to eye-catching T-shirts and hoodies for tots, teens and adults. ‘We keep adding in more characters – the brighter the better – and brainstorm regularly to create more fun designs which we feel reflect the carefree, happy spirit we want to embody in our products - and we’re always looking at new product directions to build a bigger Gone Crabbing story.’
