On Saturday 17 January, a keen team of runners from Bellway Homes ran over 7 miles through Brighton giving out 500 leaflets to recruit members of the public to join their free fortnightly boot camps which start on Saturday 31 January at 11am for 5 weeks.

Organised to help the local community get fit and even take up one of the five places the team has available for this year’s Brighton Marathon on Sunday 12 April in support of Demelza Hospice Care for Children, the boot camps will be held in the grounds of the new residential development at Moderno in Brighton.

Anyone looking to get fit and join in one of the Boot Camps can register at www.modernoevent3.co.uk. Places are on a first come basis, with 20 spaces available at each session.

Local fitness instructor David Staffell from DS Fit Brighton will be taking the boot campers through their paces at each of the sessions, which will take place at 11am on the following dates: 31 January, 14 February, 28 February, 14 March and 28 March. Everyone who takes part in at least one of the sessions can also enter a free prize draw for a chance to win one of the five remaining places in the Demelza Children’s Hospice running team in the Brighton Marathon.

Nicky Morton, Sales Director at Bellway Homes South East, comments: “We would like to invite everyone to sign up to the free training boot camps that we have organised at Moderno. They are a great way to get fitter and healthier for 2015 and for anyone looking to run this year’s Brighton Marathon, we have five places available in support of Demelza, which is an amazing children’s charity that works tirelessly to help support life limited and life-threatened children across the South East. So sign up today and get involved.”

Sarah Marsh, Events Co-ordinator at Demelza, comments “We are delighted that Bellway Homes is supporting Demelza at this year’s Brighton Marathon by entering teams into both the marathon and the 10k races, and by taking up five extra places for members of the public. We are hoping to both increase the profile of our amazing charity and help raise considerable funds to help support children in need across the South East. At Demelza our vision is to be there for every-life limited and life-threatened child, young person and their family, within our region as and when they need us. Our two hospices and our home hospice service provide needs led specialist care service to those who are unlikely to reach adulthood and also support to their families.”
