We review the salon’s Aromatherapy Associate Well-Being Massage and Express Facial
In the heart of Okehampton lies Heavenly Health & Beauty Salon, a small haven of peace and relaxation that promises ‘a little peace of heaven’, and boy does it deliver.
Set up by Jessica Beagent in 2003 when she was just 19, the beauty salon has grown in both popularity and size, now operating in a high street store rather than the original set-up within the old town hall.
Heavenly specialises in well-being treatments, and offers pampering packages to suit your every need, whether you’re a teenager having your first spa treatment, a bride-to-be, or an expectant mother, and anything in between.
I was lucky enough to be invited to enjoy an Aromatherapy associate well-being massage, which was a solid 90 minutes of pure luxury. Different from a standard massage, the treatment is tailored to your needs ensuring you leave feeling better than ever.
The aromatherapy oils used are selected by you, with a range of oils on offer rather than the one standard oil you get in many beauty salons. Jessica chose the three most suited to my needs, and allowed me to choose the one that had the most attractive scent to me, as she informed me that this would be the one that would relax me most, allowing me to get the best out of the treatment.
During the treatment Jess gave me a mini facial, as well as massaging me from head to toe, removing any knots caused by stress and tension. Relaxing music played in the background and lavender water was placed under the massage bed, and slowly I felt myself slip into a deep state of relaxation.
After the treatment, I was left in the dimly lit treatment room to slowly bring myself back to the real world before dressing and returning to the reception downstairs. I felt better than ever, if a little sleepy and dazed, which wasn’t so great for the drive home!
