The event was organised by Sue Dewhirst from Oswestry and Debbie Dixon from Tarporley to highlight the important work that CRY does.

It was a poignant evening at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester when the Cardiac Risk in the Young charity (CRY) held its annual ball.

Charlotte Carney, who thanks to the screening offered by CRY, was alerted to the fact that she had a heart defect and then received a transplant, was a special guest who showcased the vital work being done. Alex Crowe entertained guests with his amazing mind reading. The evening included a live auction, hosted by Christina Trevanion from Trevanion and Dean Auction house, which raised £18,000. Guests were able to bid on original artwork by Lyn Evans and a signed Freddie Flintoff cricket bat.
