A celebration of the history of rallying in Chester

Chester city centre hosted world rally champion Sebastien Ogier among other special guests when Rally GB visited as part of Chester Rally Week.

The week-long series of events celebrated the history of rallying within Chester, and included a historical display in the museum and a celebrity panel event at Chester Racecourse raising funds for Air Ambulance. Following a civic reception at Chester town hall, guests returned to Eastgate Street where a ramp was situated to greet crews from the World Rally Championship who had spent the day competing in the Welsh forests.

Ben Taylor, managing director of Rally GB, said: ‘We were blown away by just how enthusiastic people were to see these amazing cars. Chester has long been synonymous with Rally GB and it’s great to keep that going into the present day.’
