Students from three top schools said ‘goodbye’ in style at the Midland Hotel

Sixth form leavers from three Manchester schools turned on the style to mark the end of a chapter in their lives at a glamorous ball at the Midland Hotel.

Around 300 students from Withington Girls’ School, Manchester High School for Girls and the Manchester Grammar School, dressed for the occasion sporting black tie and colourful evening dresses.

The fun-filled evening was organised by an inter-school committee led by WGS head girl, Emily Herbert, MHSG head girl, Ebony Stephenson and MGS school captain, Ruaidhri Power, with help from their deputies. Guests enjoyed a three-course dinner followed by entertainment from Dave K Discos.

Emily Herbert said: ‘We had all worked so hard for our exams, so it was such a lovely way for everyone to celebrate, as well as enabling us to spend time with some of the people from other schools who we didn’t know very well beforehand. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was a chance to have one last fabulous evening together before we go our separate ways.’ w
