Manchester Airport bosses laid on a treat for media colleagues at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Friends from television and print publications were among the guests of Seb Thompson, Manchester Airport’s Press Relations Manager, who enjoyed hospitality in a private room at the Manchester theatre before watching a performance of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Maxine Peake, in the lead role of Blanche Dubois, led a strong cast in this production of the Tennessee Williams’ classic, which subsequently received rave reviews from local and national critics. Gone was the actress’s proud northern accent to be replaced by the sometimes honeyed, sometimes sing-song Deep South accent, one of many convincing aspects of her captivating portrayal of the fragile heroine.

The production runs until October 15th.
