A delightful afternoon of fun, food and wine was had by 120 guests at a lunch organised by the Congleton NSPCC fundraising committee.

Co-ordinated by committee member Helga Lacey, the event was held at Sandhole Oak Barn by kind permission of David and Veronica Worth.

Guests enjoyed a meal cooked by Trevor Stone, the husband of Congleton NSPCC chair, Jennifer Stone.

Trevor is a highly experienced chef and food consultant and is a judge on the Cheshire Life Food & Drink Awards panel. Speakers Paul and Nick Bianchi from Arighi Bianchi, gave an entertaining talk about the company’s history and provided goodie bags.

Jennifer said: ‘I persuaded Trevor to mastermind the catering for the event and he was ably assisted by members of our committee. The lunch was sold out and we had 17 people on a waiting list for tickets. £2,753 was raised, which was fantastic!’
