A Cornwall restaurant has received three rosettes at the latest AA Rosette Awards placing it among the best in the country.

The Karrek restaurant at the St. Enodoc Hotel in Rock, Wadebridge has been commended by the awards body.

In a video announcing the restaurants that had received three rosettes, Simon Numphud, the managing director of AA Media, was very complimentary.

He said: "Housed within the tranquil setting of St. Enodoc Hotel overlooking the beautiful Camel Estuary, the restaurant here offers a calm and elegant dining environment.

"The menu is a testament to all things local including their own farm that supplies the meat.

"The kitchen displays highly accomplished skills and respect for produce."

On Tripadvisor, the restaurant has a 5/5 rating from 17 reviews and has received praise for its nine-course tasting menu.

How are AA rosettes awarded?

On the AA rated trips website, it states: "AA Rosettes are awarded by our team of inspectors, who have an unrivalled wealth of experience in assessing culinary excellence.

"Restaurants with 3 Rosettes have achieved culinary standards that demand national recognition well beyond their local area.

"The cooking will be underpinned by the selection and sympathetic treatment of the highest quality ingredients.

"Timing, seasoning and the judgment of flavor combinations will be consistently excellent.

"These virtues will tend to be supported by other elements such as intuitive service and a well-chosen wine list."
