We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to delicious places to dine in Cheltenham. With plenty of fantastic restaurants opening up, alongside the town’s firm favourites, we pick 12 more you need to try

As we’ve said before we’re spoilt for choice in Cheltenham with many fantastic places to eat and drink. After giving you 12 of the town’s tastiest restaurants, we pick 12 more you have to try...

Bhoomi, 52 Suffolk Road

Local diners and those visiting the town are spoilt for choice when it comes to delectable Indian cuisine, and one of our favourites for a curry has to be Bhoomi.

Fresh and succulent ingredients, stunning flavours and presented beautifully, expect authentic south Indian cooking. All the dishes are perfectly accompanied with light, fluffy steamed or lemon rice. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable, and it all makes for a stylish dining experience you’re unlikely to forget.

We recommend: Try the five course tasting menu, or six if you include the tasty pre-starter, to really enjoy the evening. An accompanying flight of wine perfectly complements the courses.

Koj, 3 Regent Street

Already proving extremely popular in Cheltenham, Masterchef finalist Koj opened his pop-up Japanese restaurant in March and luckily for us, it’s here to stay.

For lunch, diners can opt for flavoursome bowls of ramen, ‘pokedon’ and pillowy steam buns while in the evening there are plenty of grazing dishes to share among your party to truly appreciate authentic Japanese dining. The Koj Fried Chicken, accompanied with a tasty sesame mayo, is a must order.

We recommend: Alongside the delicious dishes, Koj also boasts an extensive drinks menu packed with Japanese beers (it’s not just a bottle of Asahi here), creative cocktails and Japanese sake.

L’Artisan, 30 Clarence Street

For a slice of authentic French dining in the heart of Cheltenham, look no further than L’Artisan. With wafts of homemade crusty bread and aromas of delicious red wine, you will be transported to a small French village just over the Channel.

Yves and Elisabeth OGRODZKI provide an unforgettable experience; with dishes that are a ‘work of art, appealing to the eyes and the nose as well as the taste buds’. This gorgeous, intimate restaurant offers a warm welcome and attentive service alongside the truly tempting dishes.

We recommend: Whether you opt for the melt-in-the-mouth fillet steak, a slice of tasty fish or plump mussels, you’ll be delighted with L’Artisan’s tasty menu of French classics.

The Suffolk Kitchen, Suffolk Parade

Nestled in the heart of the trendy Suffolks, The Suffolk Kitchen is a friendly spot, with a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. The menu is inspired by seasonal British food, and this is reflected in the hearty Full English breakfasts, delectable fillet steaks and the TSK burger with Hereford hop cheese in a toasted brioche bun.

This restaurant is perfect for brunch with friends or an intimate dinner with a partner in the evening. Small plates can also be enjoyed from Tuesdays to Fridays for dinner, and Tuesdays and Saturdays for lunch, at a great price.

We recommend: Keep an eye out for the restaurant’s much-loved wine tasting suppers: three courses of delicious food alongside Prosecco on arrival and six types of carefully selected wine from around the world.

The Coconut Tree, St Pauls Road

The Coconut Tree only recently opened in Cheltenham, and is already creating a stir among locals. Claiming to bring authentic Sri Lankan street food to the town, diners can expect freshly cooked, rich and spicy tapas-style dishes packed full of flavour.

Alongside the delicious dishes on the menu, sample the artisan beers or an exotic cocktail. With a lively, vibrant atmosphere, and a DJ playing music on the weekends, you’ll be transported to somewhere far away with your drink in hand!

Housed in a magnificent 1920s cinema and complete with sweeping staircase and art deco features, The Daffodil in the Suffolks oozes Hollywood glamour. From the intimate cocktail bar upstairs to the grand dining hall, it feels likes a treat to be dining here.

There’s impeccable service, classic dishes with an inventive twist and you can end the evening upstairs in the cocktail bar with a bottle of fizz to share or a tasty concoction carefully crafted by the talented mixologists

We recommend: If a three course affair is what you’re after, try the twice baked cheese soufflé with fresh chives and truffle oil to start. A melt-in-the-mouth treat, this dish alone is worth a visit to The Daffodil!
