Guests of Dormy House near Broadway have earned the hotel two top international awards in one week.

In the space of a week, the newly-refurbished hotel was crowned Best Destination Hotel in the Condé Nast Johansens annual Awards for Excellence and Best Spa Hotel by the hotel booking service Mr & Mrs Smith. One of only three UK hotels to win a prestigious Smith award, Dormy also came 5th in the world for the overall title of Best Smith Hotel.

Both awards follow the recent announcement of Dormy House as AA Hotel of the Year for England.

“It’s been a stunning year for Dormy House and the celebrations just go on and on,” said CEO Andrew Grahame. “These two awards are particularly exciting because they are based on the votes of real people – guests who have stayed with us in the first 12 months after refurbishment. I have the hotel teams to thank for earning us these fantastic accolades so soon after re-opening.”

Hundreds of hoteliers attended the Smith Hotel Awards at the Bankside Vaults in London alongside TV presenters Sue Perkins and Mariella Frostrup, as well as Radio 1 DJ Gemma Cairney and DJ Norman Jay.

More than 20,000 members of Mr & Mrs Smith voted for hotels all over the world in 12 categories and shortlists were judged by expert panels.

Judge Lisa Stokes said Dormy House offered “a relaxing, rejuvenating all-round luxurious spa experience set against a beautiful Cotswolds backdrop.”

Monday night’s Best Destination Hotel award was presented at the May Fair Hotel in London and decided by readers of Condé Nast Johansen’s guide and website.

A spokesman said: “The 17th-century farmhouse that’s now the utterly chic and charming Dormy House has undergone a revitalising revamp following a multi-million pound investment and six months of intense work. The result is a hotel that’s like home – only better.”
