For the attention of all flower-lovers, RHS Garden Rosemoor in Torrington, Devon, is hosting a month-long Rose Festival. The event will bring together a breath-taking showcase of colours and scents, set against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful RHS Gardens, bordered by acres of stunning woodlands. Swathes of scented blooms, floral workshops and a huge variety of unusual cultivars on sale make this a must-see for Devon visitors this summer.

Boasting one of the UK’s largest collections of roses, RHS Garden Rosemoor is home to two dedicated rose gardens, bringing together 200 different varieties of rose which overwhelm your senses with an array of hues and scents. From delicate cottage garden climbers, to vibrant container varieties, find the perfect rose to inspire and compliment your garden at home in the flower sale, notably offering a wide range of David Austin roses.

Highlights from the festival include a botanical art exhibition, guided tours, expert advice from RHS horticulturists, and a floral themed craft and food marquee, where you can savour a variety of rose-infused treats. As a one off Rosemoor is also opening its doors early at 8am on 18 June to allow budding photographers and gardeners the chance to see the gardens in early morning light, and the restaurant will be offering breakfasts from 8.30am. Also find children’s activities, a historic rose trail, and a late night opening to the gardens on 7 July, during which you can stroll through the formal gardens at dusk and indulge in the heady, evening scent of the roses accompanied by live classical music. The event runs until the 10 July, so with something for everyone, don’t miss one of the county’s most spectacular floral displays this summer.
