Students from Bedales School recently invited other schools in the UK to join them in going Blue for Ebola to raise money to combat the deadly virus that has claimed an estimated 5,000 lives in West Africa.
The initiative encouraged pupils nationwide to dress in blue and to donate a minimum of £1 each to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Cameron Cross, who is a member of the Bedales School’s Global Awareness student group, explained: “We realised that with so many pupils being together at school, we could work together to make a difference. After exploring and talking about ways to help we decided to Go Blue for Ebola as it is the ideal way for school pupils to get involved.”
