From statement finishes to clean and contemporary aesthetics, stone is now a leading material for modern kitchens – and with good reason.

Offering a variety of stone finishes for you to choose from, stoneCIRCLE in Basingstoke offer a one-stop shop for everything you need to create your dream space.

StoneCIRCLE’s director Steve Vanhinsbergh shares four of the most popular types of stone for use in kitchens and how you can benefit from transitioning to stone in your home.

The stone tops are durable, hygienic and easy to clean and maintain.

Granite

Depending on your preferred aesthetic, granite is a common favourite with our clients and a great option for any kitchen. It’s a natural stone, so it offers much variation - whatever your taste in colour or finish, we have a wide range of options to suit every décor style.

Choose Absolute Zimbabwe Black for your surfaces, splashbacks and even floor for a minimalist feel, as this is the closest to plain black granite that exists.  Alternatively, Black Beauty has a strong vein and looks stunning paired with a gold sink.

If you want to keep away from black, but are looking for something with colour, you could consider a deep green granite. Labrador Emerald Pearl or Verde Ubatuba are ideal for this.

Or perhaps you’ve chosen coloured cupboards, with blue, oranges and reds being very much in fashion at the moment.  We encourage our customers to complement such colours with a white or cream-hued stone to create a blended balance of colour throughout the space.”

Quartz

Unlike granite, quartz is manmade and will offer less variation in patterning, ideal for those who prefer a more cohesive décor style. Use a light-coloured quartz for a clean classic look that will give a light airy feel to your kitchen.

stoneCIRCLE is an approved fabricator for all the main brands of quartz, so you can rest assured that you are in good hands.

Quartzite

For a real statement, quartzite is one material to consider. It has veining like marble but with the toughness of granite. For example, Blue Roma from Brazil makes a real statement for worktop surfaces if you would like to choose a more unique look in your space.

Marble

Marble is known as an aesthetically pleasing, beautiful type of stone, and continues to be a popular option for homes due to its versatility. It was traditionally shunned for kitchens as it is softer than granite, but this is no longer an issue. stoneCIRCLE has tested a sealant for marble worktops and splashbacks and are confident that it will stand up to the scrapes and spills of everyday use in a kitchen.

Whilst all our stone surfaces are tough and protected from everyday wear and tear, we would always recommend using boards to prepare and cut food when cooking just to be safe. Although the natural coolness of stone creates a great base for rolling out pastry and dough.

We offer hundreds of colour options for all of our stones, so you can choose the perfect colour to suit your taste and style.

All our worktop surfaces provide the option for clients to install built-in plugs and mobile charging points, which work perfectly in kitchen islands whether you’re lounging at the breakfast bar or working remotely in your kitchen.
