Rebecca Dougall, Head of The Royal High School, Bath is delighted to announce the launch of new 13+ Academic, Music (including choral) and Sport (excluding dance) scholarships, specifically for new girls who would like to join the school in Year 9. The Royal High School, Bath, recent winners of the Best in Bath Long Standing Business Award, is fast becoming the independent school of choice for girls aged 3-18, reinforced by the best ever A* GCSE results in Bath this year, with 75% gaining A*/A grades across the curriculum.

This followed outstanding A Level and International Baccalaureate results. “We understand how girls learn best and have been specialists in girls’ only education for nearly 150 years,” says Rebecca Dougall. “We also value individual achievement beyond the classroom, inspiring girls to make the most of their unique talents and become the very best that they can be. Our academic standards are among the highest in the country, but belonging to the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) affords us excellent economies of scale, so our fees are among the lowest. Offering scholarships is our way of recognising excellence and broadening our offer to the brightest girls who might not otherwise have the opportunity to join us.”

Academic scholarship girls are brilliant all-rounders, proving their exceptional intellectual ability in English, Mathematics, Science and either French, Spanish, German or Latin. Music and Sports Scholarships identify talent and outstanding potential through an audition or practical assessment. The deadline for 13+ Scholarship applications is Monday 16th January 2012, so the school would welcome applications as soon as possible. Assessment Day for Scholarships is on Friday 3rd February 2012 and Scholarships are offered by the end of the Spring Term.
