Sand Bay Christmas Exhibition of Local Artist Crafts

Sand Studio is having its first ever Christmas Exhibition of Artist Crafts next to the beautiful beach at Sand Bay. Sand Bay is a hidden treasure that not many people know about. The beach at Sand Bay and the Bristol Channel a a whole inspired much of the work using natural and organic forms. Sand Studio plans to open occasionally on weekends to show the work of local artists. The artists taking part in this Christmas Exhibition all come from the South West. They include Jo Herbert whose silver jewellery is inspired by organic forms; Liz Hewitt, internationally known for her exquisite textiles and whose recent work is inspired by Celtic mythology; Dominic Hewitt, a photographer with an obsession for rust and nature; Tean Kirby, whose beautiful ceramics are influenced by the Severn Sea viewed from her studio in Portishead; Deborah Pawle, tapestry weaver, her work includes driftwood and is influenced by the beach at Sand Bay and Annie Taylor’s colourful fused glass which matches her ebullient personality.
