Mansion House at Seaford College is already overflowing with Christmas spirit. The log fire is roaring, the Christmas tree is sparkling and a replica of Mansion House made of gingerbread is being admired by passers-by.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to make,” said head chef Cavill Perrin, who spent 18 hours creating the gingerbread mansion to celebrate the beginning of the festive period.

To produce his masterpiece, Cavill used 5.5kg of gingerbread dough and 4.5kg of royal icing. David Shaw, head of DT, helped out by building an acrylic framework to support the gingerbread. The College plans to keep the gingerbread Mansion House on display until the end of term – when the pupils will be allowed to eat it.

Seaford College invites the local community to their Christmas events: Carol Service at Chichester Cathedral on Friday 11 December, 2.30pm & 7.30pm and Christmas Crib Service at St Peter’s (Seaford College Chapel) on Thursday 24 December at 4pm.
