Vicky tells the story of their elegant reception at Alexander House, near Haywards Heath

Great British Life:

Alexander House was the first venue we visited after we were engaged. My mum had visited the spa and hotel and recommended it highly. I was totally blown away and when I brought Bernard for a visit he agreed it was perfect for our reception venue. We married in a church in South Croydon and then went on to Alexander House for arrival drinks and canapés.

Great British Life:

We were very lucky to have perfect weather in late August, which made the beautiful setting of the venue even better as we were able to enjoy our drinks reception out in the garden and managed to capture some stunning pictures.

Great British Life:

Apart from our vows and family speeches, my most memorable moment was walking into the Shelley suite and seeing it fully dressed with all the beautiful flower arrangements. We had planned the day for so long that it was breathtaking seeing it all come together, and I can still remember the lovely smell of the fresh flowers when I walked in.

All of our guests commented on how beautiful and elegant the room looked, Bows Hire and The Box Tree Company did an amazing job with the venue styling and flowers.

We both knew that the food and drink would play a big part in our day, which is why we wanted it to be perfect and to reflect our taste – we were not disappointed. The quality of food was exquisite and beyond any I have tasted at a wedding. We received great feedback from our guests. Our only regret is not eating as much of the food as we would have liked – the day is over so quickly you hardly get time to take everything in.

Our day was perfect from start to finish, Alexander House holds special memories for us and we cant wait to visit in the future.
