The structure is based on a design which has been reliably used by nomadic peoples for centuries, the inspiration for sshh… yurts having come principally from the Kyrgyz design. The physics of the circular shape combined with the roof geometry creates an aerofoil, making it a very stable structure able to withstand gale force winds with a much reduced noise-level than that associated with tents or marquees.
