With the start of a new year comes a whole world to explore, so why not go big or go home? Here are four bucket list experiences to make 2024 incredible...

Holistic Fit-cation

Jumpstart your fitness journey with a two-day wellbeing retreat at South Lodge, which has partnered with London-based wellness consultancy Oyogo to create the perfect fit-cation.

The energetic getaway includes a range of performance sports technique, breathwork training, cold water exposure, yoga, sound bathing and healing. Led by experts in their fields, the retreats are designed to help participants develop their skills and performance levels while surrounded by 93 acres of stunning Sussex countryside at the luxury estate.

The retreats start at £629 for individuals, or £979 for two when sharing a room. Rates include all expert sessions and Q&A talk, luxury overnight accommodation, breakfast or brunch, lunch and full spa access. The next retreats will take place in February 2024.

Hot Yoga

Learn how to do the Down Dog and the Warrior while cruising the Dalmation coastline with Sail Croatia.

The small ship cruising specialist has launched four new yoga themed cruises for 2024, combining stunning Croatian scenery with mindful activities designed to invigorate and inspire the body and soul.

Taking part in sunset yoga overlooking Mljet National park and yoga in a vineyard on the UNESCO Stari Grad Plain, followed by a traditional dinner and wine tasting.

There’s a certified yoga instructor onboard the cruise onboard Almissa, a boutique ship for up to 38 guests that has a swim platform and wide open sundecks – the perfect location for the yoga classes.

There are four yoga cruises starting from £1,329 per person for all four departures (13 April, 7 September, 14 September and 5 October). Flights are not included.

Strictly Holiday-ing

Get your dancing shoes on as it’s time to do the Merengue, Cuban Salsa and ChaCha during a four-day luxury retreat at a chateau in the Cote d’Azur. Classes in different dance techniques take place in classes held in the chateau Lou Casteou’s historic cloisters, or around the pool.

Suitable for dancers of all ranges, from beginners to advanced, the dance teachers on the Let’s Salsa and Afro Dance Retreats (either April 18-21 and October 10-13, 2024) are all award-winning teachers from across Europe.

Wine tasting, champagne and evening cocktails are enjoyed around the pool each evening with a relaxed dance class that include Zouk, Kizomba, Bachata and Semba, followed by elegant gourmet dinners and themed dance party nights. Fab. U. Lous.

From £1,395 per person in a room with sea or mountain-view or £1095 per person for two guests sharing. Price includes all meals and wine, a quality open bar over the four days, a champagne reception, daily dance and fitness classes, excursions and transfers from Nice airport.

Cool Lights

Now that EasyJet launching has launched a new direct flight route from London Gatwick to Akureyri, it’s the perfect time to head to Northern Iceland for a bucket list vacation to see the Northern Lights. This winter there is also a once-in-a-decade Solar Maximum – a solar cycle which intensifies the disturbances in the magnetic field, creating an ultra-active, technicolour view of the Northern Lights.

A stay at Eleven’s ultra luxurious Deplar Farm near the Arctic Circle on the remote Troll Peninsula is far from any city light pollution making it the ultimate location for the greatest show in the skies above.

Offering adventure in the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’, Deplar Farm’s winter programme of multi-sport expeditions can be as action packed as you like, with evenings set aside to relax and reconnect. Facilities include a wellness area with a steam room and Viking sauna, treatment rooms overlooking the Fljot Valley, and a geothermally-heated outdoor pool, where guests can swim under the Northern Lights. From £2,800 per person per night.
