A Brighton landmark will host a once-in-a-lifetime banquet.

The Royal Pavilion will be transformed into a mythical realm for a one-off 'Palace of Dragons Banquet' on Thursday, July 2.

The immersive experience promises an evening of story, spectacle and cuisine beneath the venue’s legendary one-tonne, two-storey high dragon chandelier.

David Purdue, senior events manager at the Royal Pavilion, said: "The Palace of Dragons Banquet will come alive in this one-off, after-hours experience like no other.

"Guests will get to experience a fully realised fantasy experience where storytelling, performance, and exquisite food come together in one of the most visually spectacular settings in the country."

The event marks the first time in known history that a Chinese banquet has been served at the Royal Pavilion.

Built for King George IV, the palace is celebrated for its dramatic, Asian-influenced design.

The evening begins in the great kitchen, where guests will be treated to a welcome drink called dragon’s breath punch.

From there, the experience moves to the music room for live entertainment, before culminating in a theatrical three-course banquet in the opulent banqueting room.

Menu highlights include the dragon’s egg dessert, a dish created exclusively for the event.

Guests will be entertained throughout the evening by live harp music and immersive storytelling that explores the folklore of dragons.

The experience is designed to transport diners into a world of fantasy and wonder.

Guests are encouraged to dress in fantasy-inspired attire, though it is not required.

The full programme, from cocktails to courses, is designed to bring the magic of dragons to life within one of the South East’s most extraordinary historic settings.
