A round up of the best Christmas tree festivals taking place over the festive season across the county.

KNARESBOROUGH
The Knaresborough Christmas Tree Festival sees 70 Christmas trees decorated by local groups and businesses, displayed in the beautiful St. Johns Church in the heart of Knaresborough. Refreshments are served each weekend, including the must-have mulled wine. Admission is free, but there will be the opportunity to donate to the church and its chosen charity. Dec 2-23

YORK
York Minster Christmas Tree Festival, is set inside the medieval Minster, with 60 trees on display in the cathedral’s Nave, Chapter House and Lady Chapel. Trees, which will be decorated to individual themes by local businesses, schools and charities, vote for your favourite in the ‘best dressed tree’ competition, and add a Christmas message to the festival’s prayer trees. December 2 – Jan 5.

HALIFAX
Head to Halifax where the atmospheric minster in the heart of Halifax opens its doors to a gorgeous Christmas Tree Festival. Visitors will be wowed by creatively decorated trees with their own themes and special messages. Open 10-4pm Dec 1 - Dec 4

BEVERLEY
Beverley Minster is a lovely setting for the Christmas Tree Festival with the town itself a goto for festive feasting, friendly shopping and soaking up the atmosphere of tinsel and lights. December 1-10.

HELMSLEY
Helmsley is always a lovely place to visit when things get festive and it’s worth popping into the Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church in the centre of town to enjoy the atmosphere of its annual event. See 24 trees decorated by businesses and community groups. December 2-16.
