In 1917, London’s theatreland became home to The Ivy, a dazzling affair with its elegant decor and luxurious ambiance, the restaurant became an instant sensation, drawing in socialites, celebrities, and the crème de la crème of society. Over 100 years later, The Ivy celebrates their unique history with a new menu paying homage to the classics created over the last century, priced at £19.17 for two courses.

In 1917, Abel Giandellini opened a small restaurant in the heart of London’s theatreland. His aim, to provide fine cuisine for cultured palates, and so The Ivy was born.

Guests were greeted by a sea of impeccably dressed attendants, and the air was filled with the sounds of live music and the clinking of crystal glasses. The menu, a culinary masterpiece, showcased the finest ingredients and innovative dishes, setting a new standard for upscale dining. The Ivy quickly established itself as the go-to destination for those seeking a taste of glamour and refinement.

From January 4 – February 9, 2024, from 11:30am until close, guests are invited to step back in time to the enchanting ambience of 1917 and discover a limited-edition £19.17 two course set menu which unlocks a time capsule of flavours that have graced tables at The Ivy for over a century, as well as favourite dishes created to cater for all tastes from throughout the restaurant’s history.

The Ivy has always been at the forefront of culinary innovation, and the new 1917 menu is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to delivering a dining experience that transcends time.

Do as we did and start with the Velvety Duck Liver Parfait, before enjoying the iconic Ivy Shepherd’s Pie with slow-braised lamb and beef for a true Ivy experience. For vegetarian guests, the Baked butternut squash with mixed grains is a more recent addition, with its crumbled feta and pomegranate an instant hit. Elevate the experience and add a dessert, such as the classic Frozen berries with yogurt sorbet and white chocolate sauce for £5. 00

Guests can complement their meals with an exclusive cocktail menu crafted in collaboration with Bombay Sapphire and St-Germain, inspired by the individuals from the roaring 20’s. The Marlene Dietrich’s Glitz (£15) is a tantalising elixir that embodies the timeless elegance and charm of the legendary actress, whilst Vivien Leigh’s Elixir (£13) is a delightful taste of sophistication, much like the beloved actress herself. Each concoction artfully pays homage to the rich history of The Ivy.
