A hit Edinburgh Fringe show is bringing the life and legacy of a world-famous artist to York.
A Montage of Monet, which sold out during its Edinburgh run, arrives in York this July.
The play offers a powerful glimpse into the life of French Impressionist Claude Monet, exploring his passions, struggles, and creative triumphs.
Stephen Smith, who stars in the one-man show, said: "While preparing for the original Edinburgh production, I made a pilgrimage to York Art Gallery to see The Water-Lily Pond during the gallery's hugely successful Monet in York exhibition.

"Standing in front of one of his most famous paintings while developing the role was an unforgettable experience, and it's incredibly special to now be bringing the show back to the city."
Written by Joan Greening, the production combines live performance with carefully curated projections of Monet’s paintings and those of his contemporaries.
Ms Greening said: "I immediately thought this brilliant young actor could play Monet.
"It has been an enormous pleasure working with Stephen, who is a dynamic performer with original and clever ideas."
Produced by Threedumb Theatre, the show builds on the company’s reputation for bold, nationally and internationally touring solo theatre.
