Clara (‘Mama’) Borrello is queen in the kitchen at Dino’s family restaurant, which has been serving appreciative locals in Dover with good, honest Italian dishes based on her upbringing in the Calabria region for nearly 40 years. Her husband of 60 years, the eponymous Dino, had just passed away after being ill for some time when this picture was taken. There is sadness in Mama’s eyes, but her love of cooking and the support of her family, including son Angelo who runs the business with her, is keeping her strong.
