The response to a request for photos of your dog at the beach was phenomenal. Meet some of Kent Life readers’ four-legged friends

Ayla

We moved to Margate two and a half years ago and decided we would like a dog to keep us fit and enjoy the beautiful Thanet beaches. We now have Ayla, a two-year-old cockapoo and we all love walking on Botany Bay as it has spectacular views and the beach and sea are so clean. Ayla's favourite games are jumping the waves and finding stones under the water. Samantha and Erkan Genc

Our herd of Briards

We are Steve and Cat from Chart Sutton. Steve is a production artist and I am a specialist community nurse. In the picture below you can see our herd of Briards (an ancient breed of large herding dog). Rubee, 11, our Alpha female who takes no prisoners, Rix, six, our gentle giant who's afraid of his own shadow, then there's Agee, five, Rubee's daughter (she's as mad as a box of frogs), and finally Bodie, five, the practical joker who tries to sit on chairs like a human. We also have five children between us, Lauren, George, Georgia, Evie and Max. We love walking on the beach and on this particular day the Deal car show was on, so it was a win-win for all of us. Loki

This is Loki, our five-year-old Maltichon. We travel from Ashford to the Kent coast nearly every day as he enjoys running on the beach so much. When we arrive, he always does a little excitement dance in the back of the car and makes a loud 'woooo' sound in anticipation! Our favourite beaches are between St Mary's Bay and Dymchurch. Great British Life: DaisyDaisy (Image: Archant)

Daisy

Daisy is a bit of a 'Heinz 57' dog; her mum was a Bichon frise crossed with a poodle, and dad was a Jack Russell. She's just over a year old now (we got her after sadly losing our old dog Jelly, who was 17). She loves all dogs big and small, and the beach is her favourite place to go as she always meets plenty of other four-lgged friends down there. Dumpton Gap is our favourite beach, partly because it's dog friendly all year round, and it's just so beautiful and tranquil. Jane Harvey

Great British Life: Ozzy and NachosOzzy and Nachos (Image: Archant)

Ozzy and Nachos

Ozzy and Nachos are my best friends and part of my family. We've had Ozzy since he was a puppy, he loves everyone and every dog he meets on his way. I rescued Nachos from a shelter in Poland, he's around 10 years old now and I don't like to think how hard his life used to be. He has a problem with other dogs and took a long time to accept Ozzy, but now they are very good with each other. Nachos is lovely, he is a calm dog who love a cuddles. They are both great travel companions. I love them so much. Iwona Sawicka

Ziggy

I look after Ziggy for the Fox family, for whom I nanny. He's a fluffy little cheese-loving cockapoo, named after Ziggy Stardust because of the markings on his face. He loves sniffing the canal and falling in (on purpose) We like walking along the beach beside Princes Parade in Hythe as it has amazing sniffs and scenery and is very dog friendly. Since losing my own dog Ziggy has given me so much to live for and I love him to bits. Charlotte Ashlee

Archie and Bo

Archie, seven, is a Rottweiler cross Collie and Bo, five, is a Shepherd/Collie. Both are rescue dogs from Dogs Trust in Canterbury. They love the beach and our favourite place is The Warren at Folkestone because we can go there all year round. Archie then gets his swimming fix, as

he loves the sea! Lin Storton

Great British Life: TillyTilly (Image: Archant)

Tilly

Tilly is one of my pair of schnoodles, I adopted her when she was four months old and she is three this month. We enjoy walks on Western Undercliff at Ramsgate as it's dog friendly all year and only 10 minutes from where we live. Tilly has the kindest temperament, she just loves everybody and is always wagging her tail. She instigates great games of hide and seek with her partner in crime, Casper. She loves whizzing onto the beach and tearing round like a mad thing. Angela Smith
