A Devon animal charity has launched an appeal to find carers for 12 beautiful foals.
The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is a registered charity that rescues unwanted, neglected or abused horses. The charity has a keen interest to rehabilitate the equines that come into its care, retraining them with the hope of finding a loving and suitable new home.
The charity’s recent work has seen 12 beautiful foals avoid an uncertain future, some of which had sadly been mistreated and abandoned prior to their arrival. Having been successfully rehabilitated at the Newton Abbot site, these foals are now looking for a new lease of life and a bit of love!
The foals are available on the charity’s Play School Scheme which offers financial assistance and full guidance to their carer. Eager to continue their basic training and develop positive one-to-one relationships, these foals are raring to go and so the charity hopes people will come forward to help find them new homes.
Executive director Syra Bowden said finding these foals a new home will not only benefit the foals but “also gives us an empty stable to rescue another horse so desperately in need”. She added that “A foal’s formative years are often the most influential time of their lives and to find a loving carer who could continue their development would be wonderful.”
