More than 500 guests enjoyed the annual Francis House ball which made £110,000 profit for the hospice. The money raised on the evening will help with cost of building and staffing the £3.5m extension which is due to open this year.

The development at the Didsbury-based hospice will double the capacity, allowing them to care for more terminally ill children.
