A look ahead to the 2018 Royal Cheshire County Show

The Royal Cheshire County Show is back celebrating all that is great and good about the countryside. So what can you expect to see this year?

Attracting over 80,000 visitors each year, the Royal Cheshire County Show is a grand celebration of everything we know and love about farming and the countryside. One of the most highly anticipated agricultural shows in the country, the two-day event is sure to thrill when it opens its gates at the 300-acre showground at Tabley, near Knutsford, on June 19th and 20th.

As always, there will be a fantastic range of competition classes for cattle, sheep, pigs and dairy goats, as well as rare breeds of livestock, poultry, rabbits and a dog show. The Royal Cheshire County Show also has one of the largest horse shows in the country, with hundreds of classes for light and heavy horses, spectacular show jumping and the popular Shire horse section, which is sponsored by Robinsons Brewery.

Both the Cheshire Agricultural Society and Robinsons Brewery are celebrating 180 years of history in 2018, and to celebrate the Stockport-based business is brewing a commemorative beer, 180, that will be available to sample over the two days.

A jam-packed entertainment schedule will be on offer throughout the two days at The Delamere Dairy Main Ring, with the Bolddog Lings at the heart of the action. Back by popular demand after their visit to the show in 2015, the motorbike stunt team will once again wow crowds with their thrilling, high-energy motorbike stunt show.

Foodies will be pleased at the line up of top range celebrity chefs that will be welcomed into Roberts Food Live Theatre this year.

Visitors can enjoy cooking demonstrations from Jean-Christophe Novelli, Luis Troyano and Sean Wilson, who will all be showcasing their skills using the finest, locally sourced produce.

Alongside the theatre there will be mouth-watering treats on offer in the Roberts Bakery Food Halls, which is one of the largest gatherings of local, regional and national producers and purveyors of fine food.

If you don’t find what you’re looking for in the food hall, then you’re sure to pick up a few treats at one of the 700 bustling trade stands, another exciting element of the huge, family-friendly show. There’s also the iconic Tabley Eye, the Agri-Centre - which gives visitors an insight into where their food comes from through interactive displays, the Cheshire Farmers’ Market, Vintage Machinery and the Women’s Institute, all of which are favourites of visitors to the showground.
