On top of 35% top-line growth last year, half-year figures show further high growth in turnover this year – the law firm (which has offices in Oxford, Manchester and Colchester) is 40% up on the half-year stage last year. Half-year in 2012 showed revenues of £4,067,000. The half-year figure this year is £5,669,000.

Managing Partner Simon McCrum says, “We spent a lot of time, energy, and money getting the business into a certain shape, and it now seems to be firing all cylinders and the investment is turning into a good return. Growth of 35% last year and 40% this year hugely outperforms the sector average of around 2%. We are extremely fussy when it comes to recruitment and retention of people, and having a team of now 200 great people makes things easy. The growth is across both our Business and the Private Client divisions, with 13 of our 15 teams showing increased turnover and gross profit on this time last year. Our marketing spend has gone down. We focus instead on providing a great service – every lawyer, every time. That does the marketing for us.”

Darbys Solicitors is one of the country’s largest full-service law firms. We look after hundreds of thousands of people and businesses around the country. We have at our core a high quality, full-service team of specialist lawyers (in 15 specialist teams), but our ambitions and courage transcend those of many traditional law firms in what is a fast-changing legal market-place. We long ago set out to be ahead of the pack rather than following it. Our absolute commitment is to be always there for our clients, and to deliver A GREAT SERVICE - EVERY LAWYER, EVERY TIME.
