Delamere Events hosted a black tie charity ball at Cherry Orchard Farm, Oakmere, to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice, Winsford, and The Christie Hospital.

Organised by Hilary Burgess, Sarah Burke and Carrie Ford, the event was attended by 150 guests who enjoyed a champagne reception followed by a three course meal. Entertainment came in the form of a Frank Sinatra impersonator and the Funky Doctors, a 70s style band based in Chester.

The auction, which featured Rory McIlroy’s flag from The Open as a prize, raised £8,700. Ryan Cartwright, who runs Delamere Events and provided the venue free of charge, said: ‘It was a wonderful night. All the guests seemed to enjoy themselves and everyone had a great time.’
