You are cordially invited to join Devon Life and Intoto Kitchens for a very special and exclusive evening of cooking...and all things foodie

Devon’s own two-Michelin starred chef, Michael Caines will be cooking exclusively for us from his new book, Michael Caines At Home, in what is the first in our new series of Theatre Kitchen readers’ events.

Michael will sign copies of his book after the demonstration and there will also be a chance to meet the talented people behind our hand-picked Showcase Food & Drink participants. These are those small, artisanal businesses that are recently launched and so will be new to many of you.

Our first-ever event will include French patisserie specialist, Sylvain Peltier – a pastry chef who is very well known to Michael since they worked together for over a decade at Gidleigh Park. Sylvain, who has stunned foodie circles with his delicious macarons and his unique twist on the French eclair, has just launched online (sylvainslittlefrenchcakes.co.uk) selling handmade, upmarket patisserie and will be coming along with samples to try! He also runs training courses so you will have the chance to find out more about those.

The first of these fantastic events will take place at Intoto Kitchen’s Exeter showroom, hosted by managing director, Gordon Bates on Thursday, 10 July, 2014. And because the showroom is located in Marsh Barton, a little way out of the city centre, we have also teamed up with the award-winning city centre Magdalen Chapter hotel to offer a preferential rate for an overnight stay.

This means you can either join us for the event alone or you can opt to come into the city, join us for the two-hour demonstration and make a foodie evening of it by staying at the hotel which was voted best City Hotel of the Year 2013 by the readers of Food & Travel magazine and where, for this special rate, you can enjoy a two-course meal cooked by the team headed up by Ben Bulger, a former Devon Life Chef of the Year in 2012.

The ticket price for our Theatre Kitchen event includes a complimentary glass of prosecco and canapés on arrival and, if you do opt for the hotel package, free transport from the Intoto showroom to the hotel and then back to your car again the following morning.

You will have the chance to meet the Devon Life editorial, marketing and commercial teams and we will have the chance to meet you and share our joint passion for Devon’s impressive food and drink scene. Do join us for what promises to be a very special evening.

Our Exclusive Theatre Kitchen Readers’ Event
