Leading Cheltenham accountants and business advisors, Davies Mayers Barnett, have promoted five key individuals to the position of Director.

In addition to reflecting the commitment and aptitude of the staff involved, these promotions will strengthen the leadership team to ensure the continued progression of the firm. The new Directors are Rob Hull, Rob Cook, Helen Jones, Cathrin Richards and Jane Hamilton.

Senior Partner, Tim Davies, said: “This is a significant but natural move for the firm, as the time is right for us to take steps in order to sustain our long term growth. Moreover, the promotions are a reflection of the regard we have for the individuals concerned, who are extremely proficient and have each made significant contributions to the development of their departments and of the firm as a whole.

We have been based in Cheltenham for 23 years and have built our reputation on quality staff working closely with owner managed businesses, many of whom have grown from small businesses into some of the region’s most successful companies. These promotions lay foundations which will ensure that the firm can continue its growth whilst maintaining its client focused ethos.”

Rob Hull

Rob currently manages the Audit department, which looks after the firm’s larger corporate clients. He also has Responsible Individual status, which allows him to sign off Audit Reports on behalf of the firm. He will continue to be responsible for the firm’s strategic direction in relation to its larger clients, alongside partners Nick Mayers, Nikki Smith and Claire Clift.

Rob Cook

He will continue to work closely with Mark and Tim on advisory assignments, whilst maintaining his own client base.

Helen Jones

In addition to looking after the developing businesses in our client base, Helen has been at the forefront of the firm’s move towards cloud based services. The accounting world is moving relentlessly towards online services and Helen’s expertise in this area will see her taking the lead, alongside Claire Clift, in ensuring the firm, and its clients, make best use of the technology available in the future market place.
