A special ball was held in Chester to raise money for Brain Tumour Research

Thousands of pounds has been raised for Brain Tumour Research at an event at Broughton Hall Cricket Club, Chester.

Franklin’s Star Charity Ball was held in memory of Danny Jones, who died of a brain tumour aged just 31 when his son, Franklin, was only two years old. The ball was organised by Danny’s wife Tara and generated £8,500 on the night, bringing the total sum raised to over £65,000. Franklin’s Star has continued to grow and grow, with their main objective to help raise awareness and funds towards fighting the disease.

Tara Jones said: ‘Although it was an emotional night, the dance floor was full and we all had a fantastic time. The auction was a particular highlight and everyone was very generous with their bids.’ w
