Promotional feature: Gloucestershire Airport is gearing up for a Holiday, Travel and Leisure weekend this month to spread the word about the wide range of services and activities that Staverton can offer.
The County’s airport is home to around 180 aircraft, ranging from single seat microlights to
state-of-the-art executive jets. It handled over 73 000 flights last year making it the busiest General Aviation airport in the UK.
Passenger flights are available to the Isle of Man, Belfast and Jersey, provided by Isle of Man-based Citywing, who will be at the event to answer any questions on flying to the 3 destinations and about the Isle of Man. ATOL-bonded tour operator OSET Holidays will also be available to offer accommodation and holiday packages at these great destinations. Visitors will also get to see first-hand how easy it is to use your local airport, with free parking yards away from the Terminal Building.
Operations director, Darren Lewington said: “Our passenger numbers grew by 7% in 2014 and have been so successful because we offer a service that makes travelling through an airport a relaxed experience, with no queues and, most importantly, a smile! Our Jersey flights have been extended for 2015, reverting to their traditional Saturday departure day and running from May until October.
The 19-seat, Let 410 turboprop aircraft that operates the services on behalf of Citywing will be spending the weekend with us, so passengers can see on board, we’ll have some exclusive special offers available too and a chance to win return flight to the Isle of Man in our free prize draw.”
“There are also a wide range of other activities available at the Airport. For those looking for a new hobby or flight experience, we can offer hot air ballooning, helicopter sight seeing, microlights, pleasure and vintage flights as well as aerobatics and even wing walking experiences. Subject to weather, some flights will be available over the weekend.”
