An idea originally mooted on social media, to host a dressage competition to raise funds for people and animals affected by the Australian bushfires, quickly became a reality.

The Horses for Hope GB event raised a spectacular £16,731. Riders of all ages and abilities - and not forgetting their horses - embraced the Australian theme by donning fancy dress. Local businesses rallied in support with a variety of trade stands and food stalls, with the stars of the show even getting a relaxing treat from an equine sports massage therapist.

A highlight was Dutch Olympic event rider Andrew Heffernan, riding Blue the Cob in one of the classes and GB dressage rider, Gareth Hughes, who presented winners with their prizes.
