Event City in Manchester was transformed into a world of pure imagination for the fifth annual James Milner Foundation Ball.

Guests at the spectacular Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed event included James’s Liverpool Football Club team mates, Adam Lallana and Lucas Leiva, as well as their manager Jürgen Klopp. They all helped to raise over £100,000 for the foundation which promotes healthy recreation for the benefit of young people by the improvement and provision of opportunities in sports.

Entertainment Today organised the quirky occasion. Willy Wonka and his team of Oompa Loompas greeted guests on the candy-lined carpet, who then enjoyed a champagne reception and singing from Louise Shufflebotham. The Chocolate Factory, complete with waterfall, gigantic hanging flowers and candy trees, was the setting for dinner. Entertainment included TV magician Ben Hanlin, impressionist Darren Farley, singer Lemar and a performance from X Factor’s Fleur East.
