A glamorous black tie ball was held by the Lee Sharpe Foundation at The Midland Hotel, Manchester. Guest of honour was the man himself, professional footballer and pundit Lee Sharpe.

Organiser Tina Booth said: ‘We had a wonderful time. We had a performance from Britain’s Got Talent’s Steven Hall, who donated his time for this special occasion. The band was Souled As Seen starring Lareena who was recently on The Voice.’

The Lee Sharpe Foundation comprises four volunteers: Lee Sharpe, Greg Thomson, Colin Booth and Tina Booth. They set it up five years ago as a means of ‘giving something back’. All the money raised this year - around £21,000 -will be donated to various cancer charities.
