Award-winning events company Oasis Events held its first open day in March, showcasing the services it can provide for clients
Oasis Events, that previously turned Cheltenham racecourse into a huge ski chalet, a private English estate into a Brazilian favela, and a historic university dining hall into a Hollywood-style film set, held its first public open day on Thursday March 26 at 13 Cotswold Business Village, London Road, Moreton-in-Marsh.
Oasis Events director, Dany Fremantle, said: “We’ve been based wholly in the Cotswolds since 2008 and this was our first open day. We welcomed lots of clients, suppliers and prospective clients, and enjoyed extending people’s knowledge and inspiration for designing their events. The open day showcased the enormous variety of looks and styles now available, including bespoke designs. We’ve more than tripled in size over 6 years in terms of products on offer, our specialist employees, and company revenues.
“We displayed the classic Oasis Bedouin tent, unique chill out furniture, including pallet seating, oil barrel poseur tables and internally lit banquettes, a distinctive selection of lighting and specialist marquee and venue linings, and dedicated areas for Oasis Safari, Oasis Après Ski, and a taste of Favela Chic styling, which was born out of the focus on Brazil 2014.”
Visitors relaxed on ‘chill out’ seating ranging from upcycled pallets to glamorous gentleman’s club bijoux chairs, enjoyed locally produced M’Hencha, a traditional Moroccan Cake also known as “serpent cake”, and were entertained by tricks from Arc Magic. A photographic exhibition showecased Oasis Events’ work turning dull spaces into exciting venues for local businesses.
“This wasn’t so much an open day as welcoming visitors onto a film set,” said Dany. “Visitors entered via a 4 metre tall Moroccan arch, were photographed beside our giant playing cards to feel like Alice in Wonderland, lounged in a bohemian Bedouin tent, sipped wine served from the window of a classic 1973 VW camper van, rifled through fabrics and soft furnishings to get inspiration for event styling and met our account handlers to chat informally about how to make a unique event.”
Oasis Events also raised money for its charity of the year, The Great Western Air Ambulance, through feel-good food and drink contributed by unique specialist Cotswold suppliers Ross & Ross, The Wild Oven, Camper Vin and The M’Hencha Company. The food and drink was offered to guests in exchange for charity donations. Total fundraising to date totals £110 with a sky dive coming up in June to raise more.
