A glamorous ball at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester has raised £350,000 in aid of Saint Mary’s hospital critical care unit at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Hosted by The Red Sea Pedestrians, the event was their 10th annual charity ball and over the past decade they have raised £1.2 million for the hospital. This year’s funds will go towards buying new state-of-the-art ventilators for the unit.

Antony Wagman, chair of trustees of The Red Sea Pedestrians, said: ‘We have had a staggering amount of support this year. Our guests have been so generous and helped to raise a life-changing amount of money for such an incredibly worthy cause.’
