NICKY HANCOCK says you should expect red carpet moments at Bath in Fashion.

The event will run from 18-24 April and will feature a line-up of well-known designers.

The programme promises stimulating debate, fast-paced catwalks, plus animation on the streets and in-store with Bath in Fashion LIVE. Topics range from the sartorial style of Cecil Beaton and Sir Roy Strong to the influence of Valentino and Versace.

Bath in Fashion LIVE highlights the best of the Bath fashion scene with a day of style events on 21 April. Whether you enjoy shopping in SouthGate with its lively fashion vibe ranging from Topshop to Debenhams or prefer historic Milsom Street, home to one of Europe’s oldest department stores, Jolly’s, a day out in Bath is always a treat.

Bath is home to special stores like Cutler & Gross, Gieves & Hawkes and Anthropologie, as well as fashion favourites like Hobbs located in Milsom Place and West Country brand Seasalt. Visit independents for something a bit different. Fabulous jeweller Nicholas Wylde is the inspiration behind this year’s Designer Catwalk Show, themed around colours reflected in a diamond.

Dame Zandra Rhodes, who headed the new wave of London designers in the 1970s, will be discussing her life and fabulous work.

Celebrated Welsh designer Julien Macdonald, known as Fashion’s King of Glamour, whose creations are favoured by celebrities including Beyoncé, Cheryl Cole and Jessie J, will also appear

VIP guests include, Livia Firth, Creative Director of Eco Age, who will be discussing sustainable fashion and Belinda Earl, Style Director of M&S. Don’t miss a Nicolas Oakwell couture gown, commissioned by No 10’s GREAT Britain campaign, embellished with rubies and 200,000 ostrich feathers, each one hand-sewn in place by the Royal School of Needlework. Oakwell will be in conversation with Hilary Alexander, former fashion Director of The Telegraph.

Bath Spa University is programming a series of talks looking at the inspirational power of pattern and hands-on workshops range from Wearable Tech to Millinery with The Royal School of Needlework. The Bath Fashion Museum also has a brand new exhibition, A History of Fashion in 100 Objects.

Bath in Fashion is managed and funded by the Bath Business Improvement District supported by Bath businesses.
