The festival, that involves a sculpture trail of over 30 five foot hares, will have its grand launch on the 29th of March. Now the organisers, the Cirencester Community Development Trust Ltd, are unleashing a batch of smaller hares that will be located in business and shop windows across the town.

Businesses all over Cirencester have already been involved in sponsoring the five foot hares and now the smaller hares are available to sponsor for just £350, which includes an artist to decorate it.

Small-hare spotters will collect a passport from the visitor information centre, located at the museum and town council information point in Bingham house. The shops then stamp the passports and, once completed, your passport will be put into a prize draw.

The small hare trail has been boosted by its first sponsor Barrington Ayre, Cirencester’s tailor and shirt maker.

They will be taking two small white hares around the country to meet their celebrity and sports star clients which include Radio One’s Greg James, dancing star Anton Du Beke and former England cricket captain and now TV and radio pundit - Michael Vaughan. First stop is a visit to the home of former Westlife and now solo star Brian McFadden and his model wife Vogue.

“It is great to be involved in what is going to be an amazing thing for Cirencester,” said Barrington Aye’s Tom Wharton. “We have been dressing the Cotswolds and have been in Cirencester for nearly five years so it is great to be asked to help out.”

Festival organiser Florence Beetlestone said, “this new trail is all set to be another fun activity, especially for children as the hare’s will be hidden in the shops and sometimes hard to find.”
