The Hilton Hotel in Liverpool city centre hosted its sixth annual Star Ball to support Claire House Children’s Hospice and the D. M. Thomas Foundation for young people.

The glamorous black tie event, hosted by Peter Price and Radio City’s Simon Ross, raised over £30,000 through an auction which included prizes such as a golfing trip to Dubai and a Boodles Love Letter diamond pendant.

Guests, who included boxing brothers Paul, Stephen and Liam Smith, snooker legend Willie Thorne and actor Andrew Lancel, were welcomed with a champagne reception and canapés, followed by a four course dinner.

Hilton Liverpool general manager Marcus Magee said: ‘I am delighted that the Star Ball has raised so much to support disadvantaged children and young people. I would also like to sincerely thank our team at the Hilton, sponsors, those who have donated and bid for prizes, but most of all those who came along to support our ball.’
