Compared with much of the rest of the country, it would seem we were rather fortunate in the Cotswolds with experiencing this morning’s solar eclipse.
Certainly, across Gloucestershire at least, we were blessed with comparatively clear skies for the big event which, from around 9.20am onwards, saw the sun being partially obscured by the moon.
The event seemed even more momentous when you take into account it coincided with two other celestial happenings: a Supermoon (when the full or new moon does its closest fly-by of earth), and the Spring Equinox, when day and night are of equal duration.
