Warwickshire chef Adam Bateman has been nominated for an award in the forthcoming Hotel Cateys.

Adam Bateman is group executive chef for The Hotel Collection and is based at The Walton Hall and The Walton Hotel in Warwickshire.

The Hotel Cateys are now in their eighth year of celebrating successful hotels, talented hoteliers and up-and-coming hotel employees across the UK. The ceremony is a highlight for the hospitality industry and this year Adam Bateman has been shortlisted for Hotel Chef of the Year. With only two others in the running from across the UK, it is seen as a highly anticipated award.

Bateman joined the team at The Walton Hall and The Walton Hotel in January 2013 and was promoted to group executive chef after 12 months, a recognition given for his dedication and innovative approach to the business. Since joining the team, Bateman has been responsible for creating new food concepts across the Collection, as well as supporting his local community by holding a free weekday “chef’s masterclass” to nurture local talent. Although based at The Walton Hall and The Walton Hotel, Bateman’s role also allows him to design seasonal menus that are rolled out across the Hotel Collection’s 21 properties across the UK.

Commenting on the nomination, Bateman said: “I am delighted and humbled to have been nominated for this award and am proud that the food at The Walton Hall & The Walton Hotel in Warwickshire is being recognised, not just in the local community, but amongst the catering industry too.”

The winners of the Hotel Cateys will be announced at Park Plaza Westminster on November 28. More information can be found by visiting: www.hotelcateys.com
