What did Yeovil residents really think about Yeovil Show 2016 and should it be repeated in 2017? A questionnaire issued by the organisers elicited 600 voluntary responses to these questions and more and the results are indisputable: the Yeovil show is set to make its return in 2017

78% of those who responded rated their visit to the Yeovil Show as either excellent or very good and 87% said it offered good value for money. 84% said they would definitely or very likely attend the show if it goes ahead next year.

As a result, the Yeovil Agricultural Society and the Show Committee have confirmed that the Yeovil Show is to return to the Yeovil Showground for the second year running on the weekend of Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th July 2017.

Sam Mackenzie-Green, Event Director commented on the decision: ‘Planning the first show after so many years was hugely exciting but also quite daunting as we simply didn’t know whether anyone would actually come. In fact, the Show attracted over 20,000 people over the two days and feedback from local residents has been truly awe-inspiring. So much so that we are absolutely committed to bringing it back again in 2017. We really want to do things that local people want. The Main Ring, the livestock and the food halls were the top three most popular attractions so we will really focus on making these elements even more compelling for 2017. But there are also a few things that have been highlighted that we will seek to change. For instance, we will provide more seating and shade around the showground, make better use of the space down by the Rugby Club and look at the feasibility of introducing a two-day ticket. All of these things will be worked out and details will be announced close to the show dates.’
